Act for colleague [AP]
Tha act for a colleague feature is a useful feature if you or a colleague are busy or away from the office and there is work which needs to be carried out on a case when you or your colleague are not available. This feature enables a user to record actions on a case without the case being re-assigned to them first.
You can act on behalf of a colleague see acting for a colleague if you would like another user to act on your behalf you will first need to delegate access to them.
Example of acting for a 3rd party would be
Case worker A is due to go on holiday and chooses to delegate access to case worker B. Case worker A signs in to and uses the Delegate access feature to enter case worker B's name in the colleague one field.
Case worker B signs in, clicks on the Act for a colleague link and selects case worker A. Case worker B now has access to case worker A's casework.
You may specify up to three users to act on your behalf. These users may, when signed in, choose to act for you (the third party) and perform actions on your behalf.
An example of granting delegate access would be
A local manager has an assistant and chooses to delegate access to the assistant. The manager signs in to the system and uses the Delegate access feature to select the user record of the assistant in the colleague one field.
The assistant signs in, clicks on the Act for a colleague link and selects the manager. The assistant now has access to the manager's casework.

To act on a colleagues behalf
You can access your colleagues cases from the Act for a Colleague link in the Me dropdown, located in the top navigation bar.
Select Act for a colleague
Using the list of available users, choose the Select option next to the colleague you wish to act on behalf.
The colleague you wish to act on behalf must have already given you access to manage their cases, if their name doesn't appear in your list then you will not be able to act on their behalf.
You will get a message to say You are now acting on behalf of your colleagues name
To act on your own behalf
When you want to return to acting on your own behalf, just select the link from the Me dropdown Act on your own behalf.
You will get confirmation You are now acting on behalf of yourself
Delegating access
The delegate access option allows you to specify up to three users (known as third party) who can perform actions on your behalf.
To set up delegate access, select the Delegate access link from the Me dropdown.
Start typing the name of the person in the appropriate colleague field, then select the appropriate user from the list.You can give up to three users delegate access.
Once you have entered the required users then choose Next to save the settings
Removing a delegates access
To remove a delegates access, select the Delegate access link from the Me dropdown.
Remove the user from the appropriate colleague field.
Once you have removed the user(s) then choose Next to save the changes.
